HONOR FLIGHT CHICAGO
by Larry Nazimek
Honor Flight Chicago is an organization that flies veterans to our Nation’s Capitol to visit the various war and service branch Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum, all at no charge to the veteran. These flights leave Chicago’s Midway Airport in the morning and return at night.
They have been giving this experience to World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans, and will soon be taking Desert Storm Veterans. Veterans of the previous conflicts should contact Honor Flight Chicago now, while their eras are still being flown.
For more information on Honor Flight Chicago, go to their website: http://honorflightchicago.org/, or call them at 773-227-VETS (8387).
Chicago is only one of numerous cities that have Honor Flights, so veterans in other cities should contact the Honor Flight network: https://www.honorflight.org/
